Trident Way - Threshold
In September - October 2009 I took part in a short residency and exhibition project with Departure Gallery in a semi-derelict warehouse on Trident Way, Southall, London.
During this project I created Threshold, one of the simplest interactive works I’ve made recently. The entrance to the main exhibition space was covered with strips of translucent plastic, similar to the PVC strip doors found in warehouses. These were mic’ed up with a contact microphone, and the sound was passed through digital signal processing and echoed around the space, massively amplifying the sound of people entering and leaving the exhibition.
